Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from August 12th to 14th, 2024.
Subject Arrested for Breaching Probation Conditions:
On August 12, 2024, at about 5:30 pm, police received information of someone setting up a campsite on property in the area of Beley St. Officers attended and observed a 26-year-old, male with a tent. The male was upset with the police on arrival and became increasingly agitated.
Investigation revealed that this was because there was a female with him, hiding inside the tent, who he was on probation with conditions to abstain from communicating with.
The male subject was arrested for breaching his probation. He began to resist and kicked the police vehicle striking the windows with his head. He was held in custody for a bail hearing after being charged with failing to comply with his probation.
Arrest Made concerning Stolen Purse:
On June 23, 2024, at about 4:00 pm, police received a 911 call in regards to a disturbance in the area of Perth St. Investigation revealed that a female had items stolen from her purse, while
she was waiting at the Via Rail station.
The suspect fled with two other males giving chase in an attempt to stop him. The suspect was stopped in the area of Delhi St. and a minor altercation occurred. No one was injured in this altercation and the stolen property was recovered.
The item that was recovered was the victim’s iPhone. The subjects parted and went on their separate ways, as the witnesses who gave chase had a train departure shortly after. During the investigation, a photo of the suspect was provided to police identifying him to be a 45-year-old, male.
On August 14, 2024, at about 11:30 am, the 45-year-old, subject was located in the area of the Circle K convenience store on King St. W. He was placed under arrest and charged with theft under $5,000.00. He was released with conditions and a future court date.
Arrest Made After Acts of Dangerous Driving:
On August 13, 2024, at about 12:30 pm, police received a call of a 44-year-old, female leaving a medical facility on King St. W., with concerns for her mental well-being. Witness information was that she was driving Eastbound on King St., at a high rate of speed, weaving in traffic.
Police followed in attempts to stop the female from offering assistance. She was observed driving in a dangerous manner and well over 100 km/h. Officers caught up to her in the area of Maitland and safely stopped the vehicle. She was placed under arrest and charged with dangerous driving. Additionally, she was taken to the Brockville General Hospital for additional services and support.
