Brockville – The King Street West Watermain Replacement Contract has been underway for approximately one month. The Contractor is progressing well and has been able to manage the hard granite crews have encountered quite well. The City has removed and replaced the existing water main with a new 300mm diameter PVC water main along with all the necessary accessories. Pressure testing has been conducted on the completed main and will be followed by Bacteriological Testing.
The next steps include the completion of the replacement of the bypass water main off the feeder main and connection to the other existing mains in the area of Rivers Avenue. This will be followed by more testing and then all surface restoration including asphalt, concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter and sod.
The project is running on schedule. The City has a project finish date of the beginning of October but hopes to be completed by late August. Engineering and Water Services Divisions wish to thank the public for their continued patience as we work towards completing this project.
