Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Brockville & Leeds-Grenville, which shows significant rainfall that will continue this afternoon through Sunday night.
The heaviest rainfall is expected on Sunday. Locally higher amounts of rain with thunderstorms are possible on Sunday afternoon and evening.
Local rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 mm with rainfall rates of up to 40 mm in an hour.
This weather pattern typically changes conditions between sunny skies and heavy downpours. Rainfall warnings may be required and issued on short notice to reflect rapidly changing conditions.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
