Brockville – On August 23, 2024, at about 11:45 pm, police received a 911 call in regards to a motor vehicle collision, in the area of King St. W. and Court House Ave. Information was that the vehicle had struck a curb in front of City Hall causing the vehicle to lose a wheel.
The vehicle then struck a pole and continued on, to then stop at the intersection of King St. W. and Court House Ave., at which point the driver of the vehicle fell asleep. Witnesses were able to wake her up got the vehicle moved to the side of the roadway and took the keys.
Officers arrived and identified the driver to be a 46-year-old, female. After speaking with the female driver, she was placed under arrest for impaired operations. She was transported to the Brockville Police Service for further testing, which confirmed that she was impaired by alcohol.
The vehicle was impounded, the driver’s licence was seized and she was charged with operation while impaired by alcohol and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. She was released on conditions and a future court date.
