Brockville – On August 25, 2024, at about 3:15 pm, police received a 911 regarding a disturbance of a male screaming at a female in the area of Park St. and Front Ave. It was stated that the male was observed leaving the area.
Officers attended the scene and spoke to the female involved.
Investigation revealed that the two individuals were in a relationship, and involved in an argument. This argument escalated to the point that the 26-year-old, male began throwing items at the female victim.
The victim had minor non-life-threatening, injuries. It was also learned that the male was on probation and a release order with bail conditions; to abstain from communicating with the victim, concerning a previous domestic disturbance.
Shortly after, police received information that the male involved was in the area of Oxford Ave., agitated and holding a knife to his neck. Officers quickly responded and luckily were able to diffuse the situation.
The male eventually calmed down and was taken into custody. He was held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, failure to comply with a release order and failure to comply with probation.
