Arrest Made Regarding an Incident of Intimate Partner Violence:
On September 4, 2024, at about 1:00 am, police received a call regarding a possible domestic dispute taking place at a residence on Brock St. Information was that a female was upset and asking for police to be called. Officers responded and found the couple involved.
Investigation revealed that a 39-year-old, male was wanted for assault charges on the female calling for police, stemming from a previous incident. The investigation also revealed that the male subject and the female were involved in a physical altercation, that led to the female being struck several times, and receiving non-life-threatening injuries.
The male subject was arrested and held for a bail hearing. He was charged with overcoming resistance by attempting to choke, three counts of assault and failing to comply with the release order.
Weapons Offences:
On September 4, 2024, at about 5:00 pm, police received a call regarding a male walking in the area of Perth St. and King St. W., in possession of a gun. Officers responded quickly and located the suspect.
He was identified as a 19-year-old, male and was taken into custody. It was found that he was in possession of a pellet pistol, scales, a quantity of methamphetamine, cash and two cell phones. The male had also made threats to harm the caller by gesturing the use of the firearm.
The subject was arrested and held for a bail hearing for the offences of uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of property obtained by crime (quantity of cash), possession of methamphetamine for the purposes of trafficking and fail to comply with probation.
