Second Impaired Arrest at Mallorytown’s Service Centres in the Last Month Says OPP!
Mallorytown – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged an individual with impaired care and control of a vehicle, possession of suspected illicit drugs and possession of an imitation firearm after a company requested officers check on their driver.
On September 6, 2024, at approximately 12:45 p.m., Leeds County OPP officers were called to investigate an overdue driver. The company indicated to officers that its commercial vehicle was located at the north service centre since 8:00 a.m. that morning, and requested officers conduct a wellness check on the driver.
Officers arrived and observed the parked vehicle. The driver was placed under arrest and suspected heroin, suspected methamphetamine and an imitation firearm were seized.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old man from Caledon was arrested and has been charged under the Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with:
- Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Heroin
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 4, 2024.
