Prescott – Grenville OPP says they have arrested one person Wednesday morning after a ‘large-scale’ search along Highway 401 near Prescott.
OPP said in an ‘X’ (formally Twitter) post on Wednesday morning that officers from both the Grenville and Leeds OPP detachments as well as the OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit were called in this morning after a stolen car was located on the 401 which was driving dangerously.
Police said the vehicle fled eastbound then the driver abandoned it near Prescott and fled on foot.
OPP began the search for the fleeing driver who was arrested a little later without incident by the ERT and Canine units and the vehicle was recovered.
The driver was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and dangerous driving.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
