Gananoque – On September 14th, 2024, the Gananoque Police and Fire Dispatch received multiple 9-1-1 calls for a structure fire at a residence on Garden Street.
Firefighters attended and aggressively fought the fire, preventing damage to neighbouring homes, and extinguishing it.
As a result of multiple witness statements and evidence found at the scene, the Gananoque Police Service initiated a criminal investigation surrounding the circumstances of the fire.
As a result of the investigation, a 25-year-old person from Gananoque was located and arrested and charged with Arson – Disregard for Human Life, Arson – Damage to Property, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm.
They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
