OPP Seized Two Kilograms of Cocaine & Two Kilograms of Methamphetamine in Brockville After Investigation

Brockville – Two Brockville residents are facing drug trafficking-related charges after a two-month investigation.

In July 2024, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and Brockville Police Service began an investigation into drug trafficking in the Brockville area. On September 5, 2024, police executed a search warrant in Brockville and arrested two individuals.

As a result of the search warrant, the following items were seized:

  • Approximately two kilograms of suspected cocaine
  • Approximately two kilograms of suspected methamphetamine
  • Approximately 900g of suspected psilocybin
  • Approximately 160g of suspected fentanyl
  • Approximately $19,000 cash
  • A prohibited weapon (spring-loaded knife)

The drugs seized have an approximate street value of over $575,000.

Michael DIBBLE, age 42 of Brockville has been charged with the following offences contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) and the Criminal Code (CC):

  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Cocaine) for the Purposes of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (MDMA) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Fentanyl) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule I Substance (Crystal Methamphetamine) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possess Schedule III Substance (Psilocybin) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000, 355 (a) CC
  • Possession of a Weapon Contrary to a Prohibition order, 117.01(1) CC, four counts
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, contrary to s. 92(2) CC
  • Trafficking Contraband Tobacco, contrary to s. 121.1 CC
  • Trafficking Contraband Tobacco, contrary to s. 121.1 CC

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on September 19, 2024.

George PAPAGEORGIOU, age 45 of Brockville has been charged with the following offence under the CDSA:

  • Possess Schedule I Substance (MDMA) for the Purpose of Trafficking, 5(2)

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on October 18, 2024.
