Gananoque – The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a single all-terrain vehicle (ATV) collision where the lone driver was found deceased.
On October 12, 2024, just after 9:00 a.m., members of the Leeds OPP received reports of an upside-down all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in the Gananoque River, near the intersection of Turn Around Road and Maple Grove Road.
Assisted by the Leeds and Thousand Islands Fire Department and the Leeds and Grenville Paramedics, members located the lifeless driver with the ATV. The driver was identified as a local 64-year-old male, however, his identity will not be released.
The time and cause of the collision are still undetermined. The OPP Collision Reconstructionists, the Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Office of Forensic Pathology are assisting Leeds OPP.
Turn Around Road at Maple Grove Road remains closed to the public during the investigation.
