Brockville – On October 25, 2024, at about 1:15 am, police received a complaint regarding an incident of intimate partner violence, that took place at a residence on Orchard St.
Investigation revealed that a male and female couple had engaged in an argument in the early morning, on the reported date. The argument escalated to the point of becoming physical.
The male had caused damage in the residence by striking and breaking a picture frame, holding her down choking her not allowing her to leave and withholding her phone so she was unable to call the police.
Once the altercation had calmed, she was able to leave and attend the police station for assistance. Later this morning, at about 3:30 am, the 61-year-old, male subject was located and arrested.
He was held for a bail hearing and charged with the offences of forcible confinement, overcoming resistance by choking and mischief under $5,000.00. The victim suffered minor, non-life-
threatening injuries.
