Brockville – A 24-year-old man is facing assault and other charges after a 911 call from a woman who said that she was assaulted by her boyfriend.
Brockville Police say that they received the call around 11:30 am on November 5th and responded to the area of King St. W. and Gilmour St. and located the woman, but the male suspect had fled.
An investigation revealed that the woman was sitting in her vehicle in a parking lot when the man approached her, striking the vehicle and causing damage.
Police said then a physical altercation ensued resulting in the male suspect choking and holding her in a headlock.
Officers located and arrested the male suspect on November 6th around 4:30 pm in the area of Alwington Street.
The suspect was held for a bail hearing for the offences of assault, overcoming resistance by choking, mischief under $5,000.00 and failure to comply with probation said police.
