Brockville – The movie that was partially filmed in Brockville this past spring was posted on Netflix on Wednesday.

Hot Frosty is an upcoming American Christmas fantasy romantic comedy film directed by Jerry Ciccoritti and written by Russell Hainline.

The plot of the movie according to IMDB says ‘Widow Cathy magically brings a snowman to life. His innocence helps her heal and find love again. They bond before the holidays, but he’s doomed to melt.’

Filming took place in April and May 2024, with filming locations including Brockville, Ottawa and Pakenham.

Numerous local and regional people were employed as background actors for the movie.

Court House Ave in Brockville was transformed into a winter wonderland for a number of weeks for the filming, alongside the use of the Keystorm Pub for interior shots.

Lacey Chabert is best known for her roles in “Mean Girls,” “Party of Five” and over 30 Hallmark films and Dustin Milligan is known for “Schitt’s Creek,” and “The People We Hate at the Wedding”

It also stars, Joe Lo Truglio (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”), Craig Robinson (“The Office”), Katy Mixon (“American Housewife”), Lauren Holly (“Dumb and Dumber,” “Picket Fences,” “NCIS”) and Chrishell Stause (“Selling Sunset”).
