Ottawa – The Kemptville 73s won a 4-3 decision over the Ottawa Junior Senators on Wednesday night in Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) action in Ottawa.
Kemptville picked up two goals in the first period from Nicholas Bennett (Trottier, Stubbings) on the powerplay and Carter Graves (Montoni, O’Doherty) while the Jr. Sens picked up one. The 73s lead 2-1 at the end of the period.
Ottawa would score the lone goal in the second period from Jak Matsukubo (Gagnon) to tie the game at the end of the second.
In the third, Kemptville would score two more goals by Bennett (Beaulieu, McDonald), his second of the game and Graves (Loreto, McDonald), also his second of the game to make it 4-2. The Jr. Sens would pick up one more in the third on a goal by Gabriel Pelchat (St. Michel, Iserhoff), but it wasn’t enough.
The 73s outshot Ottawa 34 to 30 during the game.
Kemptville travels to Hawkesbury Friday night to face the Hawks. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
