Brockville – Today is Giving Tuesday. It is the world’s largest generosity movement, a day when Canadians are encouraged to give back to the charities and non-profit organizations that matter to them most.
The global movement unleashes the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. The United Way of Leeds-Grenville says that last year Giving Tuesday saw 50 million dollars donated online in Canada.
Hailie Jack, Executive Director of the United Way Leeds-Grenville spoke to Harper Cotie this morning on Brockville’s Bounce Radio!
More residents in Leeds and Grenville are turning to social and community services to make ends meet than ever before. United Way local agencies depend on the funds raised through their campaign to provide these essential programs and services. The goal this year for the United Way is $980,000.
This year a generous donor is matching all donations today up to a maximum amount.
You can help locally by calling Brockville’s Move from 6 am – 10 am, visiting the United Way of Leeds-Grenville at Canadian Tire from 9 am – 4 pm, call the United Way’s office at 613-342-8889 to donate over the phone or donate online at https://give.unitedway.ca/donate/WBROCK
