Two Arrested for Fraudulent Vehicle Purchase:

On December 3, 2024, at about 4:30 pm, police received a call with information regarding a fraudulent purchase of a vehicle from the Nissan dealership on Stewart Blvd. Information was that two females had arranged for the purchase of a 2023 Nissan Armana, valued at approximately $96,000. The transaction was processed and the vehicle was turned over to the females. Shortly after the females left with the vehicle, it was determined by dealership staff that the identification did not match the suspects. Police were advised.

The vehicle in question was tracked and located in the area of Parkedale Ave. Officers attended and located the vehicle. The two female suspects were located in the area and identified to be a 19-year-old and 26-year-old, females out of Hamilton, ON. Investigation revealed that the females used fraudulent identification and documents to process the purchase of the vehicle.

Both were arrested and held for a bail hearing. Each was charged with fraud over $5,000, uses or acts on forged documents, possession of identity documents and personation with intent to obtain property.

Neighbour Dispute Leads to Arrest:

On December 3, 2024, at about 9:45 pm, police received a call regarding a dispute between neighbours on Windsor Dr. Information was that one resident was upset about neighbours across the street harassing him by shining lights in his windows. The male had been drinking and was upset to the point that he threatened to confront them and smash their windows with a sledgehammer.

Once police arrived the male began heading toward his shed to retrieve his sledgehammer. Officers intervened and attempted to calm the 64-year-old, male subject down, without success. The officers had to place the male under arrest to prevent a further incident from occurring. The male was taken to the Brockville Police Service and charged with uttering threats. He was later released once sober with conditions and a future court date.

The following day, there were further issues where the 64-year-old, male. He was consuming alcohol again and became upset. There were concerns that he was agitated and going to attend the neighbour’s residence and engage in a confrontation. Police were notified and officers attended. The male was taken into custody to prevent the offence from occurring and protect the victim. He was held for a bail hearing due to the safety concerns of the other neighbours.
