Aeros Won 6-3 Over Casselman Sunday in EOJHL

Athens – The Athens Aeros won a 6-3 decision over the Casselman Vikings in EOJHL action at Centre 76 in Athens on Sunday.

Alex McGlade 9 (Palmer, Curson), scored the first goal for Athens on a powerplay in the first period. Casselman’s Mathieu Cloutier 14 (Rockwell (AP)) netted the Viking’s first goal in the first to tie the game at one apiece.

In the second period, the Vikings would pick up another goal from Brandon Rockwell (AP) 3 (Cloutier, Gagné) and the Aeros’ would score one more on a goal by Gavin Clarke (AP) 8 (Blevins) to keep the game tied at 2-2 at the end of the period.

It was a busier third period with Athens picking up four more goals. Clarke (AP) 9 (Dixon, Blevins) picked up his second goal of the night along with two goals from Curson 21 (Taylor, McGlade), 22 (McGlade, Palmer) and a single from Wylie Dixon 9 (Clarke (AP)).

Shots on goal for the game were even at 39.

The Aeros are in Ottawa on Tuesday night to play the Junior Canadians. Game time is 7:20 pm.
