Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a SNOWFALL WARNING for Brockville, Prescott, Cardinal, Mallorytown, Gananoque, Charleston Lake, Westport, Merrickville-Wolford and Kemptville.
Significant snowfall is expected to begin mid to late this afternoon and taper off Tuesday morning.
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 20 cm are expected, with peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour. Poor visibility in areas of heavier snow.
Snow, at times heavy, is expected to develop later this afternoon. Snow will taper off to flurries, with a risk of freezing drizzle Tuesday morning. There is still some uncertainty about where the heaviest snow will fall, but most regions are expected to see near 15 centimetres, with locally up to 20 centimetres possible.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult in some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions.
