Nepean – The Brockville Braves, regaining their early season form, closed out this portion of the season with their 4th consecutive win. That win was a cliffhanger, a 5-4 win over Nepean Raiders on Sunday.
Raiders jumped into an early first-period lead, 2-0. Then the newly formed line of Dinis, McNally & Biniaris went to work. Ryan McNally picked up 3 assists to give him 13 points in 15 games. Vital Dinis scored a goal and registered 3 assists. giving him 5 points in the 4 games he has been with the Braves. The unsung hero was Zach Biniaris who notched a hat trick. This gave him 4 goals in the last two games.
The game-winner, an innocent-looking wrister fired from just inside the blue line, was the product of Alexandre Côté. Who by the way is the younger brother of ex-Brave Chris Côté.
The team will be enjoying a well-deserved 12-day rest before facing the Lumber Kings in their first game back in the New Year.
