Prescott – The South Grenville Senior Rangers won a 5-2 decision over the Glengarry Pipers on Saturday in EOSHL action at the Alaine Chartrand Arena in Prescott.
The Rangers got on the scoreboard first in the first period with a goal from #55 Marco Haw (#7 Nathan Merrett, #24 Tanner Schroeder) and then a second goal by #94 Max Bush (#24 Tanner Schroeder). The Pipers would score one in the first period. South Grenville would score one more in the first on a goal by #7 Nathan Merrett (#18 Zachary Lefebvre, #8 Matt Smith) to lead 3-1 at the end of the first.
In the second, each team would score one. Rangers’ #37 Broydon Stufko (#22 Liam Hunter) would score followed by a goal from #92 Andrew Munro (#67 Leo MacLean, #26 Joey Larocque) for Glengarry.
It was 4-2 going into the third period. Only one goal in the period from South Grenville’s #73 Brandon Gilmour (#37 Broydon Stufko, #22 Liam Hunter) to win the game at 5-2.
The Senior Rangers outshot Glengarry 43 to 28 during the game.
South Grenville is off the ice until Saturday, January 18th when they travel to the Pontiac to face the Senior Comets. The puck drops at 7:00 pm.
