YMCA of Eastern Ontario Ignite the Spark Campaign Exceeds Goal

Eastern Ontario – You did it! The YMCA of Eastern Ontario is happy to announce that people from across our region have helped us exceed this year’s fundraising campaign goal of $432,000 by raising 498,888!

“We are humbled by the belief that supporters have shown in our mission to help everyone reach their potential and the trust people have in the Y to deliver on this ideal,” said Rob Adams, CEO, of YMCA of Eastern Ontario. “As part of our purpose, we believe that no one should be left behind and each year our neighbours and friends help us to provide access to healthy, positive programming. Being a welcoming environment for all is something we take very seriously.”

In 2024, Y members and program participants across all ages have felt the impact of this community caring. Donors helped to provide financial assistance to 2,670 members and to subsidize campers over 278 weeks of summer camps. Across a range of programming, donations support at-risk youth, isolated seniors, and families and individuals who would not otherwise have access to Y programs.

“On behalf of everyone at the Y, I’d like to thank the many people who make what we do possible, corporate and individual donors alike,” said Adams. “The community has really come together, joining with our board of directors and our staff who also gave to the Y, and we have been privileged to have the support of so many including organizations like McDonald’s in Kingston and Gananoque, the Estate of Larry Gibson, Canarm, St. Lawrence Pools, Burnbrae Farms and others who support our fundraising efforts.”
