Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from January 3rd to 14th, 2025.

Warrants Issued:

On January 3rd, 2025, a warrant was issued for a 61-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend for fingerprints and failing to comply with their undertaking. That same day, the person was arrested, fingerprinted, and released on an undertaking with conditions.

On January 3rd, 2025, a warrant was issued for a 43-year-old person from Gananoque for failing to attend for fingerprints as required by their undertaking. On January 14th, 2025, officers located and arrested the person, where they were fingerprinted that day, and released on an appearance notice.

Breaching Conditions:

On January 4th, 2025, officers conducting follow-up on an occurrence observed a 61-year-old person and a 52-year-old person breaching their release conditions by being in each other’s company. As a result, they were arrested and charged with Failure to comply with the undertaking. They were released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.

On January 8th, 2025, while conducting a compliance check, a 50-year-old person from Gananoque was found to be breaching their release conditions by being outside of their approved residence after curfew. They were arrested and charged with two counts of Failure to comply with the release order. They were released on an appearance notice, to be seen in court at a later date.

Mischief:

On November 29th, 2024, officers responded to a report of a person intentionally kicking the owner’s e-bike, causing approximately $1500 worth of damage. An investigation was conducted and as a result, on January 11th, 2025, a 33-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Mischief under $5000. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, to be seen in court at a later date.

Outstanding Warrant/Possession:

On January 11th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a 46-year-old person from Addison who had an outstanding DNA warrant. A traffic stop was conducted, and they were placed under arrest. A search revealed a quantity of methamphetamine and an open container of alcohol which resulted in a charge for Possession of Schedule I substance – methamphetamine charge and a Provincial Offence Notice for Driving motor vehicle – open container of liquid. The DNA warrant was executed, and they were released on an undertaking with conditions.

Assault with Weapon/Uttering Threats:

On January 14th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of an assault that took place on January 11th. The complainant reported that a family member grabbed them by the throat and held a knife to it. As a result, a 43-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Assault with a weapon, and Uttering threats – causing death or bodily harm. They were held in custody for a show cause bail hearing.
