Athens Lost 4-3 in Shootout to Embrun Sunday in EOJHL

Athens – The Athens Aeros lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Embrun Panthers in EOJHL action on Sunday at Centre 76.

Rhett Palmer (Curson, Riff) scored the first goal for Athens in the first period. Embrun would also score one in the first.

Athens would score one more in the second period on a goal by Tanner Hawkins (Clarke, Hunter). The Panthers would score two more in the second to take a 3-2 lead. Palmer would score his second goal of the game for Athens in the third to tie the game at 3-3 at the end of the period.

Liam Murdoch would score the winning goal for Embrun in the shootout.

The Panthers outshot the Aeros 41 to 32 during the game.

Athens travels to Richmond tonight to play the Royals. The puck drops at 8:20 pm.
