Prescott – Two young people have been located and identified following a reported bomb threat at an elementary school, in the Town of Prescott.
On January 20, 2025, prior to the start of the school day, the Grenville County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a threatening voicemail message about the threat. The school was evacuated as a precaution and temporarily closed for the initial investigation.
The Grenville County OPP Crime Unit and front-line officers were able to identify two young people responsible for the message.
The youths, who cannot be identified under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA), were dealt with utilizing community support programs.
