Kemptville – The Kemptville 73’s won a 7-3 decision over the Hawkesbury Hawks on Wednesday night in CCHL action at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
Hawkesbury scored the first two goals of the game followed by Kemptville’s Aiden Stubbings (McDougall, Bennett) scoring the first goal for the 73’s on the powerplay in the first period. Zachary Venance 4 (Mbarushimana (AP), Beaulieu) would score a goal also in the first period.
It was all Kemptville in the second period with goals from Mathieu Fehr 8 (Shaw, Donovan), Stubbings 11 (Bennett, McDougall), his second of the game, Fehr 9 (Trottier, McDonald) his second of the game and Jay Zeus Mbarushimana (AP) 1 (Venance).
The lone goal in the third period was scored by Kemptville’s Nicholas Bennett 14 (Canevari, Stubbings) on a powerplay.
The 73’s outshot the Hawks 35 to 33 during the game.
Kemptville will host the Nepean Raiders on Friday night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
