Brockville – At its regular council meeting tonight, Brockville City Council will debate the 2025 City Budget.
Mayor Matt Wren posted on his Facebook page that 3.57% is the proposed tax rate increase for 2025 and that the proposed budget before Council is the result of many hours of discussions at the three budget meetings the week of January 13, and the very hard work of City staff.
“They, (City Staff) have taken the feedback received from members of Council and are returning with a financial plan that maintains City services and completes many needed capital projects. The proposed tax rate increase is the result of factoring in growth in assessment against the inflationary increase of the city tax levy. It does not include incremental items Council may consider on Tuesday.” said Mayor Wren.
Tonight’s city council meeting begins at 5:30 pm at City Hall and will be live-streamed here: https://brockville.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingInformation.aspx?Org=Cal&Id=2444
