Leeds County – One person is facing serious charges following a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On January 28, 2025, shortly after 2:30 p.m., members of the Leeds OPP began a joint investigation with Family and Children Services of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville (FCSLLG) after the agency received reports that an individual had sexually assaulted a child.
Leeds OPP’s Crime Unit assisted with the investigation.
A local 61-year-old is charged with:
- Sexual interference – two counts
- Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age – two counts
- Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age – two counts
The accused was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to next appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on February 7, 2025. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
