Township of Augusta Announces New Municipal Clerk

Augusta – The Township of Augusta is pleased to announce the appointment of Lindsey Veltkamp as the new Municipal Clerk, effective February 18th, 2025.

“On behalf of Council and Staff, we welcome Lindsey to Team Augusta. Lindsey brings with her experience, knowledge, and leadership to oversee and improve the Administration of the Municipality.” Mayor Jeff Shaver of the Township of Augusta. “Her interaction with Council, Committees and the Residents will no doubt be a positive influence. Lindsey is joining our team at an exciting time and will have an important part in the growth of our Township. Please join me in welcoming Lindsey to her new position.”

In this role, Lindsey will be responsible for overseeing municipal elections, managing official records, supporting Council meetings, and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements. The Municipal Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of local government processes and fostering public trust.

Lindsey has previously held the position of Director of Administration/Clerk at the Town of Prescott, where she successfully managed the retention and organization of municipal records, ensuring strict adherence to legal guidelines for record destruction and retention. Her leadership in this area streamlined processes and improved the efficiency of the Town’s administration.

Lindsey holds a Diploma in Public Administration and is the President of the Prescott Figure Skating Club, showcasing her strong commitment to both public service and community engagement.

“I am thrilled to join the wonderful team in Augusta Township and have the opportunity to contribute to its ongoing growth and success,” said Lindsey. “I look forward to collaborating with such a dedicated group of individuals and working together to achieve great things. Together, we will continue to foster a transparent, efficient, and responsive local government that serves the best interests of all residents.”
