Brockville – Environment Canada has issued a Snowfall Warning for Brockville, Prescott, Mallorytown and Gananoque areas for Wednesday evening into Thursday.
Significant snow, at times heavy, will begin Wednesday evening. Total amounts of up to 25 cm are possible. This snowfall will impact the Thursday morning commute. Snow may become mixed with ice pellets early Thursday morning as well. Snow will gradually taper off through Thursday afternoon.
Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm. Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour. Poor visibility in heavy snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight. For information on emergency plans and kits go to getprepared.gc.ca.
