Mallorytown – A Québec resident is facing charges after an initial traffic stop on Highway 401 for a vehicle with a smashed rear window.
On February 13, 2025, while on patrol at approximately 12:30 p.m., members of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a suspicious vehicle with a shattered rear window travelling on Highway 401.
The vehicle was stopped without incident and the investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of the Peel Region. The lone occupant was arrested and transported to the detachment, and the vehicle was towed.
26-year-old Sabrina ST-JEAN-SAUVE of Saint-Jerome, Québec, faces the following charges:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Trafficking of property obtained by crime
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Mischief to computer data
The accused was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on March 21, 2025.
