Brockville – Police reports from the Brockville Police Service from February 14th to 19th, 2025.
Impaired Driving:
On February 14, 2025, at about 3:45 pm, an officer was on patrol in the area of Reynolds Drive and Bartholomew Street. While there, they observed a vehicle on the lawn of the residence bordering both streets and stuck in the snow.
The officer identified the 51-year-old, male driver. While speaking to him about the events that took place, the officer detected that the driver had been consuming alcohol. It was also determined that during the events, the vehicle would have been operated dangerously. A roadside breath sample was taken and the screening device registered a fail.
The driver was placed under arrest and taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing. There, it was confirmed that the driver was impaired. His vehicle was impounded, his driver’s licence was seized and charged with dangerous driving, operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was released with a future court date.
Arrest Made for Probation Breaches:
On February 18, 2025, police received multiple calls for service throughout the day, regarding a 29-year-old, female who was causing various disturbances. Multiple agencies and resources were attempting to assist the female throughout the day.
During this, she would become agitated and resistant to any assistance and cause problems to the point police would be notified.
Officers were called to attend the Brockville General Hospital, as she continued to cause a disturbance there and was disruptive to patients and staff. After multiple failed attempts to provide assistance and connect with resources, she was placed under arrest for two counts of failing to comply with probation as she was failing to keep the peace.
She was held in custody for a bail hearing as there was a need to prevent further disturbances.
Male Arrested for Breaching Probation Conditions:
On February 18, 2025, at about 8:00 pm, police received a call to attend a residence on Perth Street, to assist a property owner in clearing a condemned building, before sealing access. The concern from the property owner was that it was possible unhoused individuals may be inside, trespassing, on the premises.
Officers attended and a 41-year-old, male ran from the building. He was located a short distance away and taken into custody. Officers continued to clear the building and located a female hiding inside.
It was then learned that the 41-year-old, male who attempted to flee, was on probation with conditions to abstain from communicating with females for safety reasons.
He was charged with failing to comply with probation and held for bail. Once the building was determined to be vacant, it was secured to prevent access.
Threats and Assault Lead to an Arrest in an Intimate Partner Relationship:
On February 19, 2025, at about 8:00 am, police received a 911 call regarding what sounded like an argument, at a residence on Brock Street. Shouting and threats could be heard coming from the residence.
Officers arrived and the investigation revealed that a 36-year-old, male, and his girlfriend, were in an argument. It was learned that the male spit in her face and caused her to bump her head on a wall.
During this, he also made threats to burn their residence down and cause her to be involved in a motor vehicle collision. Due to safety concerns, he was placed under arrest and held for a bail hearing for the offences of uttering threats and assault.
