
Brockville – Steve Clark will be returning to Queen’s Park once again representing Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes after Thursday’s Ontario election with the Progressive Conservatives winning another majority.
This is Clark’s sixth win since 2010. Clark had 25,107 votes or 54.94 percent of the vote.
The Liberal candidate Lorna Jean Edmond had 12,392 votes, or 27.12 percent coming in second, while the NDP’s Chris Wilson placed third with 4,471 votes or 9.78 percent of the vote.
Fiona Jager candidate for the Green Party came in fourth at 2,083 or 4.56 percent of the vote.
The New Blue Party candidate Chris Garrah had 743 votes or 1.63%, Daniel Calabretta of the Ontario Party had 561 votes or 1,23% while Libertarian Mark Snow had 342 votes or 0.75%.
Voter turnout for the riding was 51.58%
Provincially the PC Party had 2,158,452 votes or 42.97% of the vote winning 80 seats for a third majority.
