Brockville – The City is aware of ongoing issues with CN railway crossings inadvertently remaining closed. These safety systems are designed to default to a closed position as a precautionary measure.
We want to assure you that the City is actively working with CN, who is aware of the situation. Due to the unpredictable nature of these closures, if you have time-sensitive travel between downtown and the north end, we recommend using North Augusta Road.
However, for regular day-to-day movement throughout the city, please continue to use your normal route to help alleviate traffic pressure on North Augusta Road. If the gates are down with no train or end in sight, use caution to turn around when it is safe to do so and make your way to the North Augusta Road overpass.
We appreciate your patience and will provide updates as we work toward a resolution.
Thank you for your cooperation.
