Brockville – The “Cardiac Kids” kept us in a state of suspense all night long but came through with their 8th win in a row to guarantee the team a spot in the 2025 CCHL playoffs.
The night was billed a “Billet Appreciation Night” honouring those folks who are the heart and soul of any team. But in reality, it turned into the “Peter Legostaev Show” as the lanky big guy notched a pair of goals and added two assists. Of course,e he didn’t do it all alone (well maybe that last goal was a determined solo effort) to illustrate that point we were treated to a couple of superb passes that set up goals. The first one was Max Treppo’s behind-the-back pass as he circled behind the Bear’s cage for Peter’s first goal and then another fine pass from Ryan McNally to a charging Zach Biniaris for the game-winner.
Once again, for the 8th game in a row, it was a solid team effort that persevered. So the Braves have a playoff berth, now to secure a loftier position. It all starts this afternoon with Kemptville 73s playing in Cornwall and concludes with the Braves home game, Monday night versus Nepean Raiders.
Video Highlights:
My apologies to Peter Legostaev, our cameraman, I won’t mention his name (AI) failed to keep up with the play and missed the determined solo effort by Peter.
