VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Braves Drop High Scoring Affair to Nepean 7-5 Monday Night in CCHL

Brockville – In their last game of the CCHL regular season the Brockville Braves lost 7-5 to the Nepean Raiders on Monday night at the Memorial Centre.

It wasn’t pretty but it was what the fans anticipated. With many regulars not dressed to avoid injuries, the balance of the team and the APs rose to the occasion and provided great entertainment. Lots of ice time for everyone.

Hilites for me included Hunter Robitaille scoring twice and almost notching the 3rd for a hat trick. A couple of locals, who starred for Athens in Jr B, showed they could score in the big league.

Gavin Clarke used a real burst of speed to score his first CCHL goal, while Nate Curson displayed his talents, killing penalties and playing on the power play. His first CCHL goal would have been appropriately labelled a “goal scorer’s goal” by the late Neil McHugh.

The game leaves the Braves heading into the CCHL playoffs with a tank full of confidence. They are facing arch-rival Navan Grads in Series “C”. The Braves had a season record of 3-2 versus the Grads.
