Smiths Falls – The Gananoque Islanders lost 5-4 to the Smiths Falls Rideaus on Tuesday night in Game 2 of the EOSHL semifinal series in Smiths Falls.
The series is tied at 1-1.
Both Smiths Falls and Gananoque scored two goals in the first period. #10 Theo Todd (#91 Reid Russett) and #48 Eric Witzel (#4 Cade Townend, #14 Devin Cobbold) scored for the Rideaus while #8 Graeme Brown (#92 Brock Higgs, #10 Chris Latimer) and #6 Jacob Hetherington (#92 Brock Higgs, #10 Chris Latimer) each scored for the Islanders.
In the second period, Smiths Falls would pick up two more on goals from #76 Andrew Sprague (#92 Tate Leeson, #4 Cade Townend), and #92 Tate Leeson (#27 David Bennett, #76 Andrew Sprague).
Leeson would score another goal in the third for Smiths Falls, while #20 Ryan Pawlikowski (#19 Ben Blasko, #92 Brock Higgs) would score on the powerplay in the third for Gananoque.
The Rideaus outshot the Islanders 28 to 22 during the game.
Game 3 is in Smiths Falls on Saturday starting at 7:30 pm.
