Brockville – The 2025 Brockville Winter Classic All-Star Weekend was held from Thursday, February 13th to Monday, February 17th this year.
On Thursday, the organizing committee got together at the Keystorm Pub to reveal the amount raised at this year’s Winter Classic.
This year the event raised a total of $50,198 which will help with making hockey more accessible.
“A heartfelt thank you to our incredible community of sponsors, participants, and volunteers. Together, you’ve made our 2025 event a resounding success. Your support will help us grow the game we love and make hockey more accessible.” said Brockville Winter Classic We’re so lucky to call Brockville home—a community that always shows up for each other. Here’s to a tight-knit and supportive town that never fails to inspire. Thank you on behalf of our entire team!”
The funds raised will go to reducing financial burdens and other barriers that limit access to hockey
For example, the Brockville Minor Hockey Association and the Brockville Angels Hockey Organization’s U17 programs receive funds from the Brockville Winter Classic to cover the cost of ice for the entire season. They say that participation increased by 44% and 62% respectively as a result of the reduced registration cost for participants.
Future goals for the funds raised are an Equipment Exchange Program to allow players and families to access quality, clean, and safe equipment as their athletes continue to grow and develop, a Financial Assistance Program aimed to assist families in relieving some of the financial pressures that come with having a child in hockey and the Big Fan Program
in partnership with Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville, this program is designed to connect families who need support for their child to attend practices or games. Children are matched with a Big Fan who takes the responsibility of supporting the athlete
