
Brockville – The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is helping seven small businesses build resiliency through the Starter Company Plus program. Graduates have completed essential training in business fundamentals such as developing a business plan and understanding the importance of cash flow best practices. As part of the program, they also received up to $5,000 to support their business needs. In addition to financial support, the four-month program offers personalized guidance from advisors and collaborative sessions with community mentors.
Participants of the most recent graduating class, along with dignitaries and a network of supporters, gathered in the main boardroom of the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville in Brockville on Thursday, March 27t,h to celebrate their work with the Starter Company Plus program. This event is an opportunity to connect graduates with their mentors and coaches from the program as well as each other, as the businesses are now better prepared and more resilient to face the challenges ahead.
This cohort represents health services, trades, technology, the arts and event service industries, and is located across the region, including Brockville, Elizabethtown-Kitley, Leeds and the Thousand Islands, and North Grenville. This program is funded by the Province of Ontario, with additional support from the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville and the City of Brockville.
