Augusta – On Friday, March 28, 2025, community leaders, business owners, and residents gathered at the Maitland Education and Recreation Centre for the annual Augusta Township Mayor’s Breakfast.
Hosted by Mayor Jeff Shaver, the event provided an opportunity to discuss the Township’s growth, economic opportunities, and future development under the inspiring theme: “It Starts With Us.”
This year’s keynote speaker, Mark Seymour, Chief Executive Officer of Kriska Transportation Group, delivered an engaging presentation highlighting Kriska Transportation Group’s achievements in sustainability, innovation, and workforce development, emphasizing that progress begins with the actions of businesses, leaders, and residents alike. Mr. Seymour also spoke about the importance of the younger generation in shaping the future, encouraging mentorship and investment in the next wave of leaders.
Mayor Shaver also welcomed several new businesses to Augusta Township, including Beattie Dukelow Electrical, Carleton Mushrooms, Growing Augusta Greenhouses, and CABN, all of which are contributing to the Township’s economic growth and job creation. Mayor Jeff Shaver expressed his gratitude for the event’s success, stating: “Augusta Township was very pleased to host the 2025 Mayor’s Breakfast, and I’m thrilled to see it end in such a remarkable success.”

The event, organized by the Augusta Township Economic Development Committee, provided a platform for meaningful discussions on economic growth, infrastructure improvements, and community initiatives.
