Intimate Partner Violence
On April 12, 2025, at about 11:00 am, police received a complaint regarding a situation that took place between a couple on Macodrum Drive. Investigation revealed that a male and his 30-year-old girlfriend were involved in a dispute which resulted in the female subject smashing the male’s cellphone. Both were making various allegations against one another regarding what had taken place.
After a review of the evidence, the 30-year-old female was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.00 for the damaged phone. She was released on an undertaking with conditions and a future court date.
Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Criminal Charges
On April 12, 2025, officers performed a motor vehicle stop in the area of Perth St., regarding a Highway Traffic Act Infraction. Officers discovered that the driver was a 16-year-old male and a passenger.
The driver possessed a G1 driver’s licence and did not have a properly licensed accompanying driver. It was also learned that the driver was on conditions of bail to abstain from communication with the passenger.
The 16-year-old male was arrested for failing to comply with the release order. They were held for a bail hearing and also charged with various traffic offences, including a G1 licence holder unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
Bail and Probation Violations
On April 12, 2025, at about 4:30 pm, police received a call regarding a 29-year-old male and a 41-year-old female who were loitering in the vestibule of a bank on King St. W. Officers arrived and located both individuals. Both are currently on charges and have bail conditions for multiple other incidents where they have been found breaching various release and court-ordered conditions. Some of the conditions are that the two are not in communication with one another.
Both were arrested and held for bail hearings. The male subject had a warrant for failing to attend court and was additionally charged with failing to comply with the undertaking and failing to comply with probation. The female subject was charged with two counts of failing to comply with the undertaking and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
Altercation with Youths Leads to Charges
On April 14, 2025, at about 11:30 am, police received a 911 call regarding a group of teenagers involved in an altercation in the area of Tim Hortons on William Street. The group involved were all students of the same school where the feud initially began. It was determined that out of the small group, two females were primarily responsible for initiating or escalating the altercation on this date.
The two females were both 17 years of age. One of the 17-year-old females was harassing the group of girls and had made threats towards one of the females in the group. One of the friends in the group responded physically to end the confrontation. No one was seriously injured in the incident. The first 17-year-old female was charged with uttering threats and issued a future court date. The second female was diverted from court by way of an extrajudicial measure.
