48th Annual Hungerford-Burnbrae Farms Track & Field Classic Being Held Friday at TISS

Brockville – The 48th Annual Hungerford-Burnbrae Farms Track & Field Classic is being held this Friday, May 2nd, at Thousand Islands Secondary School (TISS) in Brockville.

The event is only open to high school students & high school teams.

There will be 44 school teams participating this year from all over Eastern Ontario and Quebec, with over 1,425 individuals participating.

Local schools participating will include Thousand Islands SS, Brockville CI, Athens District High School, Gananoque SS – Gananoque, South Grenville DHS, St. Mary Chs – Brockville, St. Mary – Brockville, Rideau District HS – Elgin, Ange-Gabriel, St. Michael Catholic High School and North Grenville DHS – Kemptville.

Brockville Police would also like to remind motorists of the traffic advisory, with traffic congestion and delays that are expected in and around the area of Parkedale Avenue and Windsor Drive, due to increased pedestrian activity and limited parking availability.

Plan ahead by using alternate routes if possible. Allow extra travel time and be aware of everyone’s safety.

• 9:00 am Steeplechase (Finals) Open Boys & Girls– 2000m (OB then OG)
• 9:20 am – Intermediate Hurdles (Timed Sections) – NG, JG, SG, NB, JB, SB
• 10:15 am – 800 m (Timed Sections) – NG, NB, JG, JB, SG, SB, I.I, I.V, AMB
• 11:10 am – Sprint Hurdles (Timed Sections) — NG, JG, SG, NB, JB, SB
• 12:05 pm – 100 m (Timed Heats – fastest 8 to final) – NG, JG, SG, NB, JB, SB, I.I., I.V, AMB (if less than 9 in division all athletes in div advance straight to final)
• 1:20 pm – 400 m (Timed Sections) – NG, NB, JG, JB, SG, SB
• 2:00 pm –100 m (Finals) – NG, NB, JG, JB, SG, SB, I.I, V.I, AMB
• 2:30 pm – Girls 1500 m (Finals) – NG, JG, SG
