Brockville Bunnies Finish Their Opening Weekend with 2 Wins/2 Losses

Brockville – The Brockville Bunnies finish their opening weekend with two wins and two losses to start their 2025 season off.

The season started off on Saturday with game one, playing the Montreal Titans in Montreal. The Bunnies lost that game 4-3 to the Titans.

The Bunnies hopped out to a 2-0 lead early, but the hits were hard to come by, said the Bunnies organization. Wyatt Brandwood took the loss, giving up four earned runs over 3.1 innings with four walks and five strikeouts (K’s).

Aaron Roy had 2.2 shutout innings in relief. Wyatt Last and Levi Biller, with the only hits, six walks and four stolen bases, helped the Bunnies score three runs.

Game two with Montreal saw the bunnies blanked 6-0 by the Titans. Hunter Sanger took the loss, giving up four earned runs over four innings with eight strikeouts (K’s). Noah Deryaw pitched in relief.

Hits again were hard to come by with the Bunnies only getting singles by Ethan Pert, Adam Bergman and Biller.

On Sunday at home, the Bunnies organization said the bats showed up. Brockville faced the Ottawa Patriots 18u in game one, blanking them 4-0.

Levi Biller had the pitching win, going five innings, giving up 2 hits, 3 walks with 5 K’s.

Aaron Roy with two shutout innings of relief, with eight players recording a hit, Ryan Robinson, Zadok Roiger, John Huntley, Mark Bowlby, Biller, Hunter Sanger, Wyatt Last, and Wyatt Brandwood.

In game two, Brockville downed the Patriots 11 to 1. The Bunnies pounded out 12 hits to cruise to the victory. Huntley had the pitching win, going five innings and giving up only two hits, two walks with 3 K’s.

Last had two solid innings in relief. The Canton Crusher Combo showed up with Charlie Todd (deep right) and Roiger(deep left), both hitting home runs.

Todd finished with two hits and three RBIS, Biller with two hits, including singles by 14-year-old Lukus Doak, Robinson, Sanger, Brandwood, Bergman, Bowlby and Huntley.

The Brockville Bunnies practice this Saturday before hosting a strong Watson Elite 18u team on Sunday for a doubleheader starting at noon at Jack Giffin Field at Fulford Park.
