Gananoque – Police reports from the Gananoque Police Service from March 28th to April 11th, 2025.

Assault:

On March 28th, 2025, officers responded to a local group home for a report of a youth assaulting staff. The 12-year-old youth was arrested and charged with Assault. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.

Failure to Comply:

On March 30th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a 33-year-old person from Gananoque at a local business who was on conditions not to be outside of their residence. They attempted to hide from police but were arrested and charged with Failure to comply with the release order. They were held in custody for a show-cause bail hearing.

Failure to Comply & Mischief:

On April 1st, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of vandalized signs and broken glass on a roadway. The perpetrator was found to be on conditions that they were currently breaching.

As a result, a 15-year-old youth from Gananoque was arrested and charged with Failure to comply with release order and Mischief – destroys or damages property. They were released on an appearance notice.

Impaired Driving:

On April 4th, 2025, officers on patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as being on charge for impaired and currently under suspension. A roadside alcohol test was conducted, resulting in a fail. They were arrested and transported to the station for further testing.

As a result of those tests, the 48-year-old person from Elgin was charged with Operation while impaired – alcohol/drugs, Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration and a Provincial Offence Notice for Driving while under suspension. They were released on an undertaking with conditions, and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Breaching Conditions:

On April 6th, 2025, officers were made aware of a person breaching their conditional sentence order by not remaining in their residence. On April 7th, 2025, the 37-year-old person from Gananoque was arrested and held for a show cause bail hearing.

Assault:

On April 8th, 2025, officers responded to a local group home for a report of a youth assaulting staff. The 12-year-old youth was arrested and charged with Assault. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.

Assault, Mischief & Failure to Comply:

On April 11th, 2025, the Gananoque Police Service received a report of a youth assaulting staff and damaging property at a local group home. The 12-year-old youth was arrested and charged with Assault, Mischief under $5000 and Failure to comply with an undertaking. They were released on an undertaking with conditions.
