Brockville – The City of Brockville announced Tuesday morning that construction will begin on the new Centeen Park pedestrian access stairs immediately following the May long weekend.
“The stairs, constructed by United Counties Construction, will enhance pedestrian connectivity by linking the new Water Street parking area at the Centeen Monument down to the riverfront trail, incorporating the natural slope of the park,” said the city in a news release
The work is expected to be completed before the Tall Ships Festival, which is being held from June 20-22, 2025.
The city also said that Centeen Park will remain open during construction, but visitors should expect some disturbance to the park and reduced parking availability in the immediate construction area.
“We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve access to our waterfront!” the city said.
