Seeley’s Bay – The annual Seeley’s Bay Red Canoefest is returning on Saturday, June 7th, in the village.

Each year, the community on the Rideau invites paddlers of all types to participate in a Silent (motor-free) Poker Run around the area.

Participants push off at 9:00 am from the Centennial Park Paddling Station on Seeley’s Bay and spend a morning visiting local cottagers’ docks, collecting cards and enjoying the gorgeous granite and pine landscape. Besides the fun, there are great prizes on offer, including a wonderful gift certificate for 2 people for a full day kayak rental from 1000 Islands Kayaking.

Registration for this event is $20 per participant. (Those who don’t wish to collect a poker hand can ride along for free, but must sign a liability waiver and observe all safety rules.)

Just around the corner from the Poker Run, at the Seeley’s Bay Municipal Docks, they will also be holding a great free event for kids, “Fishing Fun with Big Jim.”

Kids can learn all the best fishin’ tricks from Big Jim and his pro fishing friends, with support from the OPP. With their free registration, children will receive a nutritional snack courtesy of Dr. Dodie Elkins and SBARA.

Below you’ll find a poster which includes more information for both events.
