Domestic Assault & Impaired Driving Charges for Local Man

Brockville – A 44-year-old man is facing assault and impaired driving charges after police were called to a city residence.

Brockville Police say they responded on May 17, 2025, at around 7:30 pm, to a residence on Cartier Court, regarding an assault complaint. It was reported that a couple were involved in a dispute that turned physical.

According to police, a female and her boyfriend had been involved in an argument. The man had been consuming alcohol, and during the escalation of the dispute, he struck the female in the face. This caused non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the subject then fled the area in a vehicle when police were notified; however, the subject returned when police arrived.

Officers arrested the subject for assault and operation while impaired. He was taken to the Brockville Police Service for further testing, where it was confirmed that he was driving while impaired. He was held for a bail hearing after being charged with assault and impaired operation.
