Township of Augusta Announces New Treasurer

Augusta – The Township of Augusta is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Lunn as the new Treasurer, effective May 12th, 2025.

“Stephen Lunn brings many years of experience and knowledge to the position of Treasurer for our Township,” said Mayor Jeff Shaver. “He will be focused on bringing a high standard of customer service as well as improving our Asset Management Program. Congratulations to Stephen on his new position within Team Augusta.”

In this role, Stephen will be responsible for managing the Township’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, and long-term fiscal planning. He will oversee revenue collection, expense control, and asset management, ensuring the responsible use of public funds. The Treasurer plays a critical role in maintaining the financial stability of the Township and supporting effective decision-making through accurate financial analysis and forecasting.

Stephen holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Laurentian University. In addition, he has completed both the Municipal Tax Administration Program and the Municipal Accounting and Finance Program, offered through recognized municipal associations. Stephen brings a wealth of financial expertise to his role, having previously served as the Finance Coordinator for the Township of Augusta. Prior to that, he dedicated 15 years as Deputy Treasurer for the Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley. Throughout his time with Augusta, Stephen has demonstrated exceptional financial proficiency, a deep commitment to public service, and a comprehensive understanding of the Township’s financial processes.

“I feel very fortunate to be part of a great team here at Augusta Township. I look forward to assisting Council with developing and attaining Township goals now and in the future,” said Stephen Lunn.
