Brockville – The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation (BDHF) was proud to host the 5th annual Ride the River cycling event on Saturday, June 8, is a day marked by community spirit, scenic views, and remarkable generosity.

Trish Buote, Executive Director of the Brockville & District Hospital Foundation, shared heartfelt words at the event: “Thank you so much to everyone who participated, it was incredible to see such energy and community spirit as we came together for a cause that truly matters. Every dollar you’ve raised and every kilometre you’ve ridden today directly supports our Bottoms Up Campaign. This initiative will modernize colon care at Brockville General Hospital through the purchase of advanced equipment, leading to faster diagnoses, shorter wait times, and better outcomes for patients right here in our community. Thank you for riding hard, showing up, and making a real difference.”

This year’s event was a tremendous success, raising $315,875.04 in support of the Bottoms Up! Campaign at Brockville General. These funds include a match from a generous anonymous donor. All funds go toward the purchase of advanced endoscopy equipment to enhance early detection and treatment of colorectal conditions, including cancer.

Julie Caffin, President and CEO of Brockville General Hospital, added: “We are so grateful to everyone who made this day possible, and to all the riders who donated their time and energy to raise funds for this critical campaign. We are humbled by the generosity of our community, which allows us to provide the outstanding care our patients deserve. What a privilege it is to ride together through such beautiful scenery, for such an important cause.”

A heartfelt thank you to Brown’s Bay Park, our beautiful host location, and to the St. Lawrence Parks Commission for welcoming us so warmly. Special thanks to Mike, Gord, Rachael, and all the team members who helped prepare the park and support our event.
