VIDEO: First-ever Prescott Ribfest & Sportsman Show Held Over Weekend A Success

Prescott – The first-ever Prescott Ribfest & Sportsman Show in support of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville held over this past weekend was a great success, with many people taking in the three-day event.

The event held from June 13th to 15th in and outside the Leo Boivin Community Centre and the grounds of Fort Wellington in Prescott featured lots of things for everyone to do including live music, many vendors a kids zone, sportsman vendors, a Touch-a-Truck event, a Cops and Kids fishing derby, and Movies in the Park on Friday.

Along with various food trucks, there were two ribbers all weekend, Ribs Royal and The Hog Father, both have been at Brockville Rifest in the past.

The event was hosted by Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Leeds & Grenville, the Town of Prescott and Fort Wellington. The funds raised from vendors paying a fee to set up all go to BBBSLG to support their mentoring programs.

BBBS has been hosting Brockville Ribfest for 23 years and decided to try one in Prescott.

“We’re very pleased with how the first-ever Prescott Ribfest and Sportsman Show turned out this past weekend. It was great to see so many people come out and support the event,” said Bev Heuving, Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Leeds and Grenville. “We’re especially thankful to the Town of Prescott for their support, to our sponsors and vendors for helping make it all possible, and to the local community for showing up, getting involved and supporting the event. This event was a great reminder of how strong our community is when we come together for a good cause.”
